I am in good health, I believe I can go on for another fifteen years, and build and manage a 1000-dog sanctuary.

- Wuyi

Wuyi, 58 years old, is a pioneer in rescue work in China. When she began to save the dogs twenty-two years ago, people in the city just began to take a fancy in having companion dogs. Over the years, owning a dog became more popular, so are the scale of abandoned animals. Wuyi’s sanctuary, Canyon Ranch Sanctuary, now cares for 580 dogs, and 40 cats.

SANCTUARIES NEEDS

Around 100 dogs from the dog meat trade, as well as, police culling this year, but this sudden and huge in-take creates a tremendous financial burden. On top of that, the roof is in urgent need of repair after severe summer storms. With 500 dogs and 40 cats, Canyon Ranch Sanctuary needs many hands to care for the animals every day. Wuyi, at age 58, works from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. EVERY SINGLE DAY! Her son, Liu, drives a taxi at night to supplement their income for the sanctuary while working for the sanctuary during the day, seven days a week. With their meager budget, they can only afford three full-time kennel workers to help them care for the animals every day. They could use some help!

Your love and support will mean so much for Wuyi and Liu

Be the Angel they need to give the dogs a dignified, happy and healthy life!
