Imagine working every single day without a break for 10 years!
With her petite frame and soft voice, you can’t believe how Rong could handle the workload and financial pressure of operating a dog sanctuary for ten years all by herself. She is a power house. Rong works from 5am to 10pm every single day because there is no one else! The dogs she’s saved are her children, she can’t let them down.
Rain or shine, she shows up with this motorcycle every day!
This beat down old motorcycle is all she’s got for transportation. Driving on a bumpy and winding country road towards the sanctuary, located on the top of a hill, can be dangerous on a rainy or snowy day. She also uses it to carry goods to the sanctuary and even to transport rescue dogs with it -- one hand to hold the dog, the other to steer.
She depleted all her savings to care for the dogs!
With limited public support, Rong has to rely on her own personal money. Over the years, she’s depleted her savings, even the fund set up by her family should her cancer return is gone. Worried about increased population and disease, she had to use this emergency fund to pay for spays and neuters at the sanctuary.
