Moving to rural Beijing for dogs cost him a full time job and a girlfriend.

When he eventually had over 60 dogs, he was forced to move to a rural area due to the neighbors complaining. As an IT technician, Erniu made a decent enough income to support the dogs and himself. But, by moving to a rural area, it meant he had to cut work hours because of the amount of time he spent travelling to the city for his job. He faced severe financial hardship. Meanwhile, his girlfriend gave him the ultimatum: choose the dogs or me.

Erniu wants nothing but the best for his dogs.

Fortunately, Erniu’s long term friend, Yang Ge joined him as a partner. Yang Ge worked to support the operation while Erniu focused on taking care of the dogs. Together, they rented a house for use as a sanctuary. There is almost no furniture in it for Erniu and Yang Ge. It is truly a “dog’s house”-- super clean, happy and comfy for the dogs. No matter how tired he is, Erniu insists on taking the dogs for a long walk, more than twelve dogs at a time. He wants his dogs to live a free, happy, and dignified life under his care.

Erniu dreams of getting bold to save more dogs with high quality care.

Erniu’s mission of a high quality care sanctuary infused with WOA’s vision perfectly. Together, we will build a sanctuary that can house 500 dogs with plenty of outdoor areas to play and run. Being a perfectionist and caring so deeply about the dogs’ happiness, Erniu and Yang Ge are very hands on with the project. To save money, they both would actually perform some of the construction jobs. Every day, they will come to the new site with dog crews to help. The first phase will be done by April and all current 75 members of the family will move into their new home..
