Flight Cost
Our dogs come over with a flight volunteer (a passenger/literal angel heading your way who volunteered to bring your dog as part of their baggage), which costs about $850-$1,300. Finding these amazing, kind people can take 1-2 months, or sometimes longer.
We don't have the public funding yet to cover these costs, so we lean on our amazing adopters to help offset the flight cost. This helps us keep flying high and saving more dogs.
Why does adopting a pup feel like buying a small island?
Going international with our rescue missions isn’t cheap. But saving dogs in China from backyard breeders and the grizzly dog meat trade, that's priceless. Still, these furry survivors often come with health issues that require a lot of money to treat.
Rescue/rehabilitation costs:
- $2,000 - Cost of medical treatment for a dog saved from the dog meat trade.
- $120 - 250 - Living expenses for a dog per month.
- $100 - Spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and rabies shot.
Flight preparation adds further costs:
- $500 - Immigration paperwork.
- $300 - $600 - Plane ticket (the airfare varies depending on the airline, the dog’s weight, and the destination).
- $200 - $400 - Domestic transport costs.
- $200 - Broker (For US adopters).
- $100 - Antibody test.
- $100 - Dog’s flight crate.
